When Your Energy Pushes Love Away
A few years ago, I hosted a one-day workshop on Healing the Inner Child at my home in Madrid.
To my surprise, a woman I hadn’t seen in almost a year decided to join us.
The last time we had met, she was already struggling.
Now she was in the middle of a divorce — and the moment she walked into the room, I could feel it: a heavy, tense sadness surrounding her.
Her heart was aching, her body guarded, her energy dim.
She shared with me that someone had recently asked her, “Why do you look so sad?”
And she told me, almost shocked, “Do I really look that sad?”
She didn’t realize how deeply her energy was speaking for her — how her unacknowledged sadness was quietly pushing others away.
What We Resist, Persists
You’ve probably heard this phrase before: What we resist, persists.
It’s true — especially when it comes to our emotions.
When we resist feeling what’s really there — the sadness, the anger, the loneliness — we don’t make those feelings disappear.
We just send them underground.
And from that hidden place, they start to speak through our energy.
Many women fear that if they allow themselves to fully feel their pain, they’ll spiral, or become too much, or scare people away.
But the opposite is true.
It’s the repression that repels.
The pretending. The smiling through it. The holding it all together.
Because unacknowledged emotions don’t vanish — they radiate.
And often, they whisper to the world: “Don’t come too close, I’m not safe to love right now.”
Feeling Is How We Heal
The moment we allow ourselves to feel what’s been stored away — the grief, the anger, the fear — something beautiful begins to happen.
Our hearts soften.
Our bodies exhale.
Our energy clears.
To love yourself is to make room for all of you.
Not only the joyful, graceful, radiant parts — but also the tender, aching, human ones.
When you embrace your sadness instead of running from it, it transforms.
It becomes tenderness, empathy, wisdom.
And that energy? That’s what draws love in.
Because love isn’t attracted to perfection.
It’s attracted to truth.
The Phoenix Path
This is exactly the work we do in Phoenix — my 1:1 sacred journey for women who are ready to stop repressing, start feeling, and truly heal after love has ended.
In Phoenix, we walk through three sacred stages:
-
Healing through the body — learning to feel again, releasing the emotions your body has been holding, and returning to softness and safety.
-
Integrating the lessons of love — understanding what your past relationships came to teach you, so your energy becomes clear, grounded, and magnetic.
-
Creating a soul-aligned life — opening your heart to love again, not through effort, but through presence, truth, and embodiment.
Because when you welcome all of who you are, your energy shifts — and love can finally find you.
If you feel that your heart still carries unspoken emotions or sadness that quietly keeps love away, Phoenix is your invitation to come home to yourself.
With all my love,
Gabrielle – Puranshant Kaur
