I would like to tell you some more about Louise Hay, who is an enchanting woman who has a message full of hope. She has learned from firsthand experience, that when we become aware of our internal dialogue and truly love ourselves, we can heal, change our lives and even change the world.

Born in 1926 in the USA, Louise Hay had a tough childhood, suffering poverty and instability, physical violence and sexual abuse.

During most of her early adult life, she had extremely low self esteem and found it difficult to find happiness. However, in the 1970’s she became interested in meditation and took Science of the Mind classes. She learned that we are each responsible for our own experiences and that in modifying our way of thinking, we have the possibility to change our lives.

Louise Hay self edited her first book “Heal your Body” in 1976, to help people discover their own creative potential for physical, emotional and mental self-healing. She outlined the importance of accepting and loving ourselves in order to achieve positive changes in our lives.

After healing herself and recovering from cancer, she decided to start her own publishing house called Hay House in 1984, in order to edit her own books as well as publish books from other authors writing about spirituality and personal development. Hay House is now one of the most successful independent publishing houses in the USA, Australia and Europe, with a catalogue of more than 130 authors including Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, Esther and Jerry Hicks, David Kessler and Gabby Bernstein.

Louise Hay has also founded the Hay Foundation and Louise Hay Charity, non profit organisations that help diverse groups and charity bodies, focused on AIDS, abused women and other stigmatised groups.

She is an incredible example of someone who has overcome huge obstacles in life and an ongoing inspiration for all of us. I strongly recommend you read her book “You can Heal your Life”.

Sat Nam,

Gabrielle – Puranshant Kaur
