I find it very hard to get up at 6 am to do my sadhana (spritual practice). In fact, there are days where I let myself have an extra 15 minutes in bed.

I suppose it will always be this way for me, as I never seem to be able to go to bed earlier, my current family life does not allow it!

I know that this is all part of the process. In fact, all of the Masters I speak to about this, often say that the same thing happens to them.

But desite this, we all do it, because that is how we discipline our minds.

This quote from Yogi Bhajan pretty much sums this up:

“Once a person said about Sadhana – ‘As long as your are doing sadhana, nothing should happen’ – to which I answered – ‘No! When you do sadhana everything should happen! You should emerge as a winner, victorious!’” For me, that is exactly what sadhana gives you. It doesn’t give you a written guarantee from God. But those who do it without fail, create a powerful personality for themsleves that can help them to conquer anything! That is why I religously do my own sadhana. Why I have done it for years and why I continue to do it now. And when people ask me “But you are a teacher… why do you do sadhana?”  I answer, “On the contrary, I do sadhana to continue being a teacher!”

The sadhana is indespensable.

It is a moment that you truly dedicate to yourself. To your mind, your body and your soul. A connection with infinity.

So I encourage you to do yours as well, at whatever cost (we all have trouble committing once in a while!).

And on days when you really find it hard , remember that quote: “Keep up and you shall be kept up”.
